Efteling

Efteling is a fantasy-themed amusement park in Kaatsheuvel, the Netherlands. The attractions reflect elements from ancient myths and legends, fairy tales, fables, and folklore.
The park was opened on May 31, 1952. It evolved from a nature park with a playground and a Fairytale Forest into a full-sized theme park. It now caters to both children and adults with its cultural, romantic, and nostalgic themes, in addition to its wide array of amusement rides including six roller coasters and four dark rides.
It is the largest theme park in the Netherlands and one of the oldest theme parks in the world. It is twice as large as the original Disneyland park in the United States and predates it by three years. Annually, the park has more than 5 million visitors. In 2020, it was the most visited theme park in Europe, before Disneyland Park (Paris).

Efteling ist ein Freizeitpark in der niederländischen Provinz Noord-Brabant. Er liegt im Ortsteil Kaatsheuvel der Gemeinde Loon op Zand, benachbart zur Großstadt Tilburg.
Der Park war im Jahr 2018 gemessen an den Besucherzahlen der größte Freizeitpark der Niederlande und der drittgrößte Freizeitpark Europas.
Efteling hat seine Ursprünge im Jahre 1935 mit der Eröffnung eines Sport- und Wanderparks. Nachdem das Projekt über die Kriegsjahre eingeschlafen war, gründete sich 1950 die Stichting Natuurpark de Efteling (Stiftung Naturpark Efteling), die sich der Wiedererrichtung des Parks annahm. Nachdem bereits 1951 ein noch heute existierender Teich ausgehoben und ein Teehaus errichtet worden war, erfolgte am 31. Mai 1952 die Eröffnung des Märchenwaldes – ein Datum, das vom Park heute als sein offizielles Gründungsdatum angesehen wird.

Efteling est un parc d’attractions et complexe de loisirs néerlandais situé dans le village de Kaatsheuvel, dans le Brabant-Septentrional.
Ayant pour thème les contes et légendes, il est l’un des plus anciens parcs de loisirs en activité puisque ses racines remontent en 1935 lorsque deux clercs locaux fondent un terrain de jeux. Officiellement inauguré le 31 mai 1952 avec le Bois des Contes de fées, il est remarqué par l’unité de son style : celui de l’illustrateur de contes pour enfants Anton Pieck (1895-1987).
Le parc comporte 36 attractions et dispose d’un complexe hôtelier avec un total de 3 144 lits.
Lauréat de plusieurs prix internationaux, Efteling se développe dans la durée, s’adaptant aux nouvelles technologies et offrant aujourd’hui une large variété d’attractions, conçues par des sociétés spécialisées, telles Vekoma et Intamin. Parmi les prix reçus, la Pomme d’or, l’Applause Award, le Thea Classic Award et les Theme Park Insider Awards sont les plus prestigieux. Bien qu’il ne soit essentiellement connu qu’aux Pays-Bas, en Allemagne et en Belgique, il est aujourd’hui un des plus importants parcs de loisirs d’Europe avec plus de cent millions de visiteurs reçus depuis son ouverture.
